Cooking for over 30 years at the Hotel de France chef Eric Lematelot uses the finest, mainly locally sourced ingredients. He conjures up the French classics and gives other dishes an inspired contemporary twist. A gastronomic feast for the eyes and food for the soul.

The restaurant is named after local poet Pierre de Ronsard. Diners wax lyrical over long lunches, romantic dinners and occasions when only fine dining will do.  The superb wine list reflects the exceptional wine growing areas nearby – and further afield – and the cheese chariot is an epicurean triumph.

Courtyard:

Eat, drink and make merry in the leafy shade of the virginia creeper-festooned courtyard.  Available for private hire for lunches, dinners and parties.

Private dining

For those celebrating BIG birthday parties or throwing high octane dinners the restaurant’s private ‘Salle de Pilots’ (‘Drivers’ Room) can be reserved.

An exciting vegetarian menu is available every day. The kitchen can also assist with a range of wider dietary requirements, including gluten-free, dairy-free and allergies (advance notice preferred, but we will do our best to accommodate late notice requests).
