April:
Les Jardins du Loir (The Gardens of the Loir); an annual festival at Marçon leisure park

May – September:
Château de Poncé: modern art exhibitions (www.chateaudeponce.com)

June:
Garden festival at Château de Lude (last weekend of the month); explore the Chateau’s stunning gardens plus workshops, lectures and entertainment.

Les Kanpagn’Arts (last weekend in June) in Saint Paterne Racan is a family friendly arts and culture festival.

July:
The annual Foire à l’Ail et au Basilic (garlic and basil fair) held at the end of the month in Sainte-Anne near Tours

July-August:
FestiLoir is an outdoor arts festival with family friendly events including theatre, circus, music and food. It takes place throughout the Vallée du Loir region.

Autumn and winter

September:
The Vignes Vins Rando: a ‘wine hike’ and tasting event with local winemakers from a selection of magnificent local vineyards throughout the Loire Valley (first weekend of the month).

Les Affranchis in La Fleche is one of France’s most prestigious street entertainment festivals. The whole city is transformed into an outdoor theatre, with fringe events as well.

December:
Tours: the atmospheric Christmas market runs from the front of the town hall to the railway station.   Offering an inspired haul of gorgeous Christmas presents, it sells lovely handmade items, hats, jewellery, sweets and chocolates, wooden toys, gifts and really good mulled wine! Very festive!

Organised tours and trips

While Hotel de France can suggest brilliant days out and places to go to, we do not have a dedicated tour organiser.  However, if specific  holidays are required, for instance trips to the wonderful Christmas markets in the region (or for more complex requirements or larger groups) our sister company, ABTA accredited Classic Grand Touring will be delighted to help. 

They are expert at creating perfect tailor-made packages, dependent upon a client’s wishes and budget.  Their knowledge and excellent contacts are second to none.
